William G. Wetzel Excellence in Public Speaking Award!

Steve Fisher: "My main reason for joining IRN was to generate referrals - either for myself or to others as a resource for my clients. What is often overlooked is the fact that IRN also provides us with a great resource for training. Each member is asked to give a 20 minute (10 minute in some chapters) presentation regarding their products or services. For some, this can be a very difficult task as they are not comfortable speaking in front of a group of people. When I first joined IRN, I was one of those people. However, since becoming a member, I have taken advantage of these speaking sessions to learn how to give a better presentation - with confidence."

"I joined IRN in 2004. In 2007, I used my IRN speaking experience to help improve my presentation skills as I was asked to give many talks across the state regarding health care reform issues. As a result of this, I was announced as the recipient of the William G. Wetzel Excellence in Public Speaking Award by the National Association of Health Underwriters (NAHU). The Wetzel award annually honors one member of NAHU (over 20,000 members) who has demonstrated excellence in public speaking by giving presentations that educate and/or deliver important information to members, industry colleagues, public officials and/or the public."
